Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you currently accepting applications? A: No. The Combined pathway is in its pilot phase, and we are not accepting applications during 2019-2020. To add your name to our mailing list for future cohorts, please email Dr. Alison Dover at [email protected].
Q: Why should I apply to this program? A: Great question. The short answer is that it’s an opportunity to earn your credential & master’s degree as part of an innovative, community-based program, where you’ll learn alongside other students who share your passion for culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. Want to learn more? Read our Guiding Principles!
Q: Will this program prepare me to teach mathematics? A: Candidates for a credential in Foundation Level (middle level) Mathematics are eligible for this pathway, but those who want a Mathematics credential are not. Teachers with a FLM credential can teach high school, provided they pass an additional exam, but cannot teach community college. Please contact Dr. Patrice Waller ([email protected]) to learn more about the FLM credential so you can decide whether it’s the right option for you.

When you drop off your paperwork on the 6th floor of CP, be sure to mention that you want to be considered for the combined pathway! (And, if you are currently enrolled the prerequisite pathway, you still need to let us know that you’re interested in the combined option. Email Raquel and ask her to put you on her list.)
